In Patient Care

Glebe Vets In Launceston - In patient care image

During the normal course of practice, it is often necessary to hospitalise animals overnight post op or if they are in need of intensive nursing care. We can assure our clients that their animals will be closely monitored throughout their stay with us.

The number of checks made on a patient throughout the night is dependant on the condition of the patient. For example if the patient is receiving IV fluids checks must be more frequently done. The number of checks is at the discretion of the veterinary surgeon in charge of that particular case.

All in-patients will have hospital charts kept throughout their stay recording their progress.

All animals will be kept in our cat or dog ward, supplied with Vetbed bedding and fed a suitable diet as directed by the vets.

Every effort will be made to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

All clients will be phoned at a prearranged time to report progress.

Clients are encouraged to visit on a daily basis if their animal’s stay is a prolonged one. Please discuss visiting arrangements with the duty Veterinary Nurse.
