Regular vaccination is an important aspect of responsible pet ownership.
Severe, even fatal infectious conditions of dogs, cats and rabbits still exist in the UK but vaccinated animals are far less likely to succumb to illness if exposed to these germs.
Recent concerns over the safety of vaccination have been addressed by the POOCH study, conducted by the Animal Health Trust, which found that in a sample population of 3966 dogs there was no association between recent vaccination and ill health and no association between the number of vaccinations received over a lifetime and ill health.
In dogs we currently recommend "Version Plus". This is a completely new vaccination range, which we believe offers your dog the most up to date protection available. "Version PLus" protects against Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, Hepatitis, distemper all of which can be sadly fatal. It also protects against Parainfluenza. This vaccine contains a new strain of parvovirus making it a formidable opponent against this potentially fatal disease. It also incorporates four strains of Leptospirosis, whereas traditional vaccines tend to cover only two strains.
In cats we recommend vaccination with 'Purevax' (made by Merial), which protects against feline herpes and calici virus, feline panleukopaenia, feline leukaemia virus and chlamydia.
In rabbits we recommend a new combined vaccine which protects against Myxomatosis + viral haemorrhagic disease(MSD), administered from 8 weeks of age.
We run very popular vaccination clinics on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. An appointment at these clinics will ensure you a 5% discount off the vaccination price. There is also a 5% discount off the price of flea and worming treatments purchased at the time of vaccination.
